The expansion of Aucklands Ronald McDonald House made it double its original size. The house provides an essential service for families from outside the region whose children are receiving care at Starship Hospital.
The extension accommodates 22 extra rooms, playroom facilities, a learning center and a large communal kitchen. It also incorporates a dining area and lounge.
ASC Architects design takes advantage of the sites picturesque views across Grafton Gully and the Hauraki Gulf. It also reflects the dynamic roof forms of the existing building, designed by ASC Architects 10 years previously.
