SALVATION ARMY EPSOM LODGE, AUCKLAND
This project required the redevelopment of the existing lodge to house 80 single men, with specialized accommodation for aged care, temporary and permanent residents. Additional facilities included dining and recreational spaces, administrative and service areas and outdoor courtyards etc.
The planning concept was generated by the Salvation Armys desire to foster group responsibility and support by forming self-contained household units within a structured environment. The new buildings appearance reflected the Armys vision for the new millennium.
