The house is an elevated platform, supported on an exposed steel frame, and nestled into the hillside below the top of the hill. The main volume is a flexible living space, extensively glazed to take advantage of the views over the bay and to the harbour beyond. A second volume - located behind the living space - contains sleeping and bathroom spaces.

Sliding doors to decks at each end of the living space facilitate a seamless connection to the outdoors, and large roof overhangs allow indoor and outdoor spaces to benefit from Waiheke’s benign micro-climate in both summer and winter.
