Oceania Meadowbank Stage 6 Dementia Care

ASC Architects were commissioned by Oceania to design a new two-storey Dementia Care building and waste enclosure at the existing Oceania Meadowbank Retirement Village, located at 148–168 Meadowbank Road.

The Dementia Care Unit (now known as the Oceania Meadowbank Orakei Building) forms Stage 6 of the village’s development. The building comprises 40 care suite units across two storeys, with a total floor area of 2,619 sqm.

It includes shared living rooms and kitchen facilities designed in accordance with Montessori and Household Model principles, creating a more domestic and familiar environment for residents. The facility also incorporates treatment rooms and two nurses’ stations on each floor.

The design features an internal courtyard with landscaped seating areas and a green wall, providing a calming and therapeutic outdoor space.

Oceania Meadowbank was completed in March 2025 and is now fully occupied by residents.
